Welcome

Hi there! This blog is an experiment, intended for viewing only by a few select family members and kitties. I know from experience and those of others that the blog offers wonderful possibilities for communication and pedagogy in overseas travel. But I've never set one up myself. How hard could it be to teach myself?

So that is the experiment. I'd like try to document this visit to Kyoto and Doshisha International School and to have some fun doing it.

Some basic info: Kyoto is sixteen hours ahead of California time.... Tomorrow, we'll really leap forward in time. The weather there is predicted to be in the 70s and 80s next week and rainy, too. Rumor has it that there are slick gadgets one can attach to a blog to give viewers this kind of info, but I can't seem to figure how to get that working on this ...

Our hosts at Doshisha School have been incredibly gracious and encouraging of our visit. I look forward to meeting them and to seeing Kyoto and environs.

Thank you, all Guinea Pigs, for viewing this.

Experiment

Can I post using only the iPad. It's harder than it looks, at least for me.... Sixty minutes and one new downloaded app later, here it is. The photo is of our newly netted apricot tree. Who put the ape in the apricot?
